the reason i ask is that it HAMMERS my site constantly. there will be from ten to twenty of these spiders on my site (or trying to get on my site as guests) at all times of the day and night twenty four hours a day seven days a week!
they have 'got' to be causing my site to be slower than it would it they 'weren't' constantly hammering it. surely there must be a way to block them.
on top of that, i 'feel' that they in someway may be connected to spammers or spammer bots. whenever i see the baidu spiders' connections on my site as guests... everytime at the "SAME" time, i will get a SLAM of new spammers/spam bots registering for accounts under bogus email accounts and bogus names.
when there are no baidu spiders...i see few spam bots.
i may be wrong but there seems an obvious connection. i know baidu is supposed to be legit from china, but to be honest i do not trust them due to what i've already said above...plus, i NEED no chinese traffic. blocking them (if possible) would not bother me or my site traffic at all.
